Software & IT Consulting Services

Arcesso's software consulting gives you a senior engineer's judgment before you spend on a build. We run architecture and code reviews, audit apps built with AI tools, act as a fractional CTO, and write technology roadmaps. Most reviews take one to two weeks at a fixed fee, and you get a written report you can act on.

Architecture and code reviews

An Arcesso architecture review shows what is wrong with a system and what it costs to fix. It also shows how much each issue matters. Companies ask for one before a funding round, after a vendor leaves, or when releases keep breaking.

A senior engineer reads the code, the infrastructure and the deployment process, and talks to your team. The review covers security, data model, performance, test coverage, dependency health and how hard the system is to change. We run automated scanners too, but a person checks every finding.

The report ranks each issue by risk and effort, with a plain-English summary for non-technical leaders and detail for engineers. You can fix the issues with your own team, another vendor or Arcesso. If the system is in good shape, the report says so; we do not invent work to sell a rebuild.

AI-built app audits for Lovable, Bolt, Replit and Claude apps

An AI-built app audit checks whether a prototype made with AI coding tools is safe for paying users. Tools such as Lovable, Bolt, Replit and Claude make a working demo fast, but they often skip the parts real users depend on.

The audit lists every issue with a fix estimate. Then you can fix it yourself, or Arcesso can harden the app, add tests and deployment pipelines, and hand back a codebase you own.

  • Authentication and authorization gaps, such as data readable by any signed-in user
  • Exposed API keys and secrets in front-end code
  • Database rules, row-level security and backup setup, often on Supabase
  • Performance under real data volumes
  • Missing tests, error tracking and a repeatable deploy process
  • Payment and webhook handling that can be replayed or skipped

Fractional CTO for startups and growing companies

A fractional CTO gives you senior technical leadership for a few days a month instead of a full-time salary. Arcesso's fractional CTO service suits founders without a technical co-founder and companies between technology leaders.

Typical work includes setting the architecture direction, hiring and interviewing engineers, managing outside vendors, reviewing estimates and answering investor due-diligence questions. The fractional CTO joins your planning meetings and is accountable to you, not to a sales target.

We are clear about limits. A fractional CTO cannot replace a full-time leader once your engineering team grows past a handful of people. When that point comes, we help you write the role, interview candidates and hand over. Arcesso does not require you to build with us to use this service.

Technology roadmaps and AI readiness

A technology roadmap from Arcesso is a dated plan that ranks projects by payback, risk and cost. It answers the question most leaders actually have: what should we build first, and what can wait?

We review your systems, data, team skills and business goals, then list candidate projects with an estimated cost range and expected benefit. AI use cases get the same test as everything else. Some processes are good fits for an agent or automation; others need clean data or a simple form first. The roadmap says which is which.

For a deeper AI-only plan, the AI readiness assessment at /ai/ai-readiness-assessment/ ranks AI opportunities in two weeks. Both outputs are written so you can act on them with any vendor, including your own team.

Build vs buy vs extend: making the call

Build when software is your edge and buy when the process is standard. Extend when a product already covers most needs. Arcesso compares all three with cost over three years, not just the first invoice.

Arcesso is not the right choice if you need managed IT support for laptops, networks and help desks; a local managed service provider fits that work better.

Each option gets the same scoring, so the choice is clear.

What software consulting costs

Software consulting at Arcesso is sold as fixed-fee reviews and roadmaps, or a monthly fractional CTO retainer. Fixed fees mean you know the cost before the work starts, with no open-ended hourly billing.

For context, Clutch lists typical US software development rates of $50 to $99 per hour, and cloud consulting rates of $100 to $149 per hour. Arcesso's consulting rate is a published $175 per hour, a fractional CTO retainer starts at $3,900 per month, and the AI-built app rescue audit is a fixed $3,600, each 5–10% below the comparable figures on our pricing page.

If you build with Arcesso after a review, the review fee is credited in full to the build. There is no obligation to do so. Many clients use the report to brief their own team or another vendor, and that is a fine outcome. The pricing page explains our engagement models.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask us

What does an IT consulting engagement with Arcesso include?

An Arcesso consulting engagement includes a scoped question, a review by a senior engineer, and a written report ranked by risk, cost and effort. Common topics are architecture reviews, AI-built app audits, technology roadmaps and build-vs-buy decisions. Most reviews take one to two weeks at a fixed fee, followed by a walkthrough call.

How much does software consulting cost?

Arcesso prices consulting at $175 per hour, fixed-fee reviews such as the $3,600 AI-built app rescue audit, and a fractional CTO retainer from $3,900 per month. For context, premium US boutiques on Clutch charge $150 to $199 per hour. If you build with Arcesso after a review, the review fee is credited in full to the build.

What is a fractional CTO?

A fractional CTO is a senior technical leader who works for your company part-time, usually a few days a month. Arcesso's fractional CTO sets architecture direction, hires engineers, manages vendors and answers investor due-diligence questions. The arrangement suits companies that need senior judgment but not yet a full-time executive salary.

Can you audit an app we built with Lovable, Bolt or Claude?

Yes. Arcesso audits apps built with Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Claude and similar tools for security, data access, performance and deployment gaps. The fixed-fee audit lists every issue with a fix estimate. Common findings are exposed API keys, weak database rules and missing tests. You can fix them yourself or have Arcesso harden the app.

Do we have to hire Arcesso to build after a review?

No. Arcesso's reviews and roadmaps are written so any capable team can act on them, including your own engineers or another vendor. If you do build with Arcesso, the review fee is credited in full to the build. We would rather give honest advice than sell a project the report does not support.

Do you provide managed IT support for our office?

No. Arcesso focuses on software, cloud and AI systems, not laptops, networks or help desks. For day-to-day managed IT support, a local managed service provider is the better choice. Arcesso can still review the software and cloud systems your business runs on, and help you choose vendors for the rest.

How do you keep our code and data confidential?

Arcesso signs a mutual NDA within 24 hours of your request, before any access is granted. Reviews use read-only access scoped to the systems in question, and access is removed when the work ends. Findings stay between us, and secrets found during a review are reported to you, never copied into reports.
